The waves rolled gently on to the shore, creating peaceful music. A flame-colored cat sat by the shore, staring across the sea with a look of grief on his face.
I'll never forget you Sister, Flamefur thought...

Honeypaw ran along the shore. She could see Flamefur in the distance. She started to speed up, she really had to talk to him. A bird landed just infront of her. She skidded to a halt and thought He looks sad. Maybe I should take him this. She pounced on the bird and killed it with a single blow. Scooping it up in her jaws she carried on running. She finnaly reached yelling distance. "Flamefur..."she meowed

Startled, Flamefur turned around to find Honeypaw coming towards him. He noticed the bird she was carrying (or in front of her). "I see you're out hunting," he purred quietly, trying to shadow his grief with a pleased look. "It's a nice catch," he mewed.

"Well, I wasn't exactly out hunting." she said "I was looking for you. Someone told me you would be here, so I came looking for you at the first chance I got." Honeypaw sat down beside Flamefur and started washing her paws. When she was finished, she ran back to the place she had left the prey and brought it back to Flamefur. "I caught this for you. You looked incredibly sad and I thought this would cheer you up." she mewed quietly "Does it cheer you up?" she asked. Once again she sat down, but this time she needed answers.

"Well, yes. Thank you Honeypaw," Flamefur purred in a happier mood. I obviously need to do better hiding my feelings, he thought. "You seem disturbed," he mewed. "What did you need?" the flame-colored cat asked the apprentice.

Honeypaw shifted a bit "Well, when you know that someone you are close to may have died, what do you do?" she asked. "How do you bring them back?" She looked afraid because she already knew how, she just didn't want him to know. She sat there patiently waiting for a reply.

Flamefur pondered Honeypaw's question for a moment. How would I bring back someone close who has died? He finally came to an answer for her second question.
"Well, there really is no way to bring back someone from StarClan. At least that's what I think. Only StarClan knows if there actually is a way to do this." He thought about the apprentice's first question, with a sad look crawling slowly back to his face.
"And if I knew someone... that I am close to... who may have... d-d-died... I would think about them... everyday... and wonder.... why... they left... me..." His voice faded away at his last word as he fixed his gaze back to the sea in deep thought and his grief flooded him yet again.

"Oh no! I am so sorry about reminding you! Please don't be sad!" Honeypaw was pleading. Then she broke down in pitiful mews. She was crying because Starclan had abandoned her. The death was too much for her and she really didn't like to remember it. She stopped crying for a second, shivered then started crying again. She was also stuck on two toms and couldn't choose which she liked best. She was troubled.

Flamefur broke his gaze with the sea as he heard the apprentice mewing. "Calm down, Honeypaw," he purred quietly in her ear, occassionally licking her head. "It's all right, it's ok. Everything has been reminding me recently, but soon I'll get over it," he mewed assuringly. Flamefur gently pushed the bird Honeypaw caught towards her. "Have some of this."

Honeypaw stood there stunned. She managed to stop crying but what had just happened had made her mind freeze with shock. Did Flamefur like her? Honeypaw was more confused than ever. Bluestalker or Flamefur? Bluestalker or Flamefur? The she realized Flamefur was waiting for her to eat. "N..no thanks." she stammered "I..i caught it for y..you." Honeypaw licked Flamefur over the ear. "Thanks anyway" she said. Then she blushed.

Flamefur got up. "Well, I should be going back to the camp now," he mewed. "See you in the camp later, Honeypaw." He picked up the prey and gently shook it to get rid of any sand. Flamefur padded back to camp, his senses alert for any other prey for Waveclan. He glanced back quickly at the apprentice, then picked up his pace, sensing a mouse up ahead.
